We’re into two years of the COVID-19 pandemic and experts are saying we should expect to see cases surge due to the spread of variants.

Alabama has reported 1.3 million cases of COVID and 19,623 deaths since March 2020.

Stacker recently compiled a list of the counties with the highest COVID-19 infection rates in Alabama using data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources with vaccination data from COVID Act Now. Counties are ranked by the highest infection rate per 100,000 residents within the week leading up to May 10. Cumulative cases per 100,000 served as a tiebreaker.
