MOHAMMED and Hussain Al Mosawi booked their berth in the semi-final of the Men’s Doubles division of the BTC Tennis Tournament 2016 which was held at the Bahrain Tennis Club in Juffair yesterday.
The Mosawis defeated Ammar Saeed and Mohammed Ahmed 6-0, 6-2 for their fourth win in four games to advance into the next round.
Emmanuel Bishay and Thahir Bishay notched their second win in the group stages when they beat Faisal Sharaf and Mohammed Sharaf 6-0, 6-0.
The Bishay duo had earlier fallen to Mohammed Khonji and Isa Al Sammak 6-2, 6-2. They also lost to the Mosawis earlier in the group 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.
Their only other win came in the opening day against Saeed and Ahmed who depart the group stages without any win.
Victorious
Mohammed Yousif and Abdul Maheed Mufees also recorded a 6-4 7-6 (7-2) win against Ahmed Al Jassas and Hussain Abdul Latif but neither teams made it to the semi-finals.
Fathalla Ebrahim and Yousif Khonji were awarded a win after Matar Yusuf and Hussain Al Mukharraq failed to show up in their game.
The semi-final of the Men’s Doubles and the Super Men’s Doubles will take place tomorrow.
The Men’s Double will see Naji Al Samahaji and Ahmed Omran go up against Mohammed Khonji and Isa Al Sammak, while the second semi-final will see Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Ahmed Al Mahmood face Mohammed Al Mosawi and Hussain Al Mosawi at 6pm.
The Super Men’s Doubles will see Salman Hassan and Naser Khonji face Nabil and Ali Dawani, with Ali Alasfoot and Roy Boutagy taking on Mahmood Janahi Abdul Rahman Janahi with the matches set to kick off at 7pm.
