Marion H. Biccum

MONTAGUE, N.J. - Marion H. Biccum of Montague, N.J., a lifetime resident of the area died April 28, 2015, at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 91.

She was born July 4, 1923, in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late John S. Innella and Mary Haggerty Innella.

Marion was married for 62 years to Darcy W. Biccum until his death on Sept. 29, 2002.

She worked as an occupational therapy aide for the Head Injury Recovery Center at Hillcrest in Milford, Pa. She was also a co-owner and operator of Biccum Brothers Roofing and Siding, Montague, N.J., with her husband and son. She was a past owner of harness racing horses based at Big Z Stables in Montague, N.J.

A family statement read: “Family and friends were the most important to her, never forgetting an important date, enjoying family gatherings and traditions, her door always open for a visit and a cup of coffee, and oh boy, there were many visits and many pots of coffee. She kept an immaculate home while managing the family business. She was a world class Scrabble champion, and could make a lemon merengue higher than your hair in the sixties, and loved her Good and Plenty. Her memory, lessons, and values will be cherished and passed down for generations to come.” 

She is survived by her son, Darcy J. Biccum of Montague, N.J.; her son Michael Biccum and his wife, Dawn, of Montague, N.J.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Delbert "Del" Biccum of Montague, N.J.; brother-in-law Orley “Bud” Biccum of Watertown; sister-in-law Mabel Ramsey and her husband, Don, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

She was predeceased by her son John Biccum; her daughter Dianne Feigenheimer; her daughter-in-law Elizabeth M. Goulette; her son-in-law Robert Feigenheimer; three brothers: Edward Norris, Donald Hunt, and Eugene Innella; and two sisters: Alma Biccum and Elvira June Millspaugh. 

There will be no visitation. 

Graveside funeral services were held on May 4 in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Main Street, Port Jervis.

Robert E. Koepplinger

PORT JERVIS - Robert E. Koepplinger of Port Jervis, and formerly of Franklin, N.J., died April 30, 2015. He was 78.

He was born June 5, 1936, in Jersey City, N.J. the son of the late John and Anna Koepplinger.

Robert served in the United States Army 10th Infantry.

A family statement read: “He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.” 

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Koepplinger of Port Jervis; two sons, Bill Koepplinger of Highland Falls, and David Koepplinger and his wife, Krissy, of Wantage, N.J.; three daughters: Kathie Burd of Franklin, N.J., Susan Koepplinger of Waitsfield, Vt., and Lori Holley and her husband, John, of Wantage, N.J.; one sister, Carolyn Harrison and her husband, Wayne, of Oakland, N.J.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held May 3 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home.

Cremation was at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, in Milford, Pa. 

Donna Jean Myers

MILFORD, Pa. - Donna Jean Myers of Milford, Pa., died April 29, 2015, at Milford Senior Care, in Westfall Township, Pa. She was 77.

Donna was a secretary for District Magistrate Carolyn Purdue in Milford, Pa.

The daughter of the late Kenneth and Pauline (Snyder) Hanna, she was born in Washington, D.C., on June 23, 1937. She was married to the late Jess “Ike” Myers Jr. in Milford, Pa., on June 5, 1955. 

She is survived by three daughters: Terri De Mars of White Haven, Pa., Kathy Dalrymple of San Antonio, Texas, and Stacey Keys of Port Jervis; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

A service was held at the at Stroyan Funeral Home, in Milford, Pa., on May 1, with the Rev. Luana Cook-Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.

Nettie Lee Ulrich

PORT JERVIS - Nettie Lee "Tooter" Ulrich of Port Jervis, born July 3, 1926, died April 29, 2015, after a long illness. She was 88.

Nettie was born in Vickery, Texas, to parents Lee A. and Nettie Ewer Lowery into a family with six brothers and sisters, and spent her childhood near Paris, Texas. She met the love of her life, Richard Ulrich, in Texas during World War II in 1945 and later moved to the Sparrowbush, N.Y. area, where they began their life together.

Nettie, also known to many as "Tooter," spent her working days in the offices of, and retired from, Andmore Sportswear, in Port Jervis.

She was a lifetime member of the Tri-States Naval Ship Ladies Auxilliary, and a member of Pond Eddy United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir.

A family statement read: “Nettie had a special love for her ‘furry children,’ her many cats she had throughout the years. They were all very special to her, and she treated them just like family. Days at Mohican Lake, spending time with her grandkids swimming, fishing and water skiing, were also treasured memories to her. She was loved by all, and will be greatly missed by her family and many, friends.”

She was preceded in death by her parents and her six brothers and sisters; by her husband, Richard, in 1992; by her eldest daughter, Jean Marie, in 1999; and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Frank Ulrich.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia Vereschagin and her husband, Victor, of Budd Lake, N.J., and Susan Goddard and her husband, Frank, of Huguenot; and by her seven grandchildren: Jim and Tony Lechner of Cocoa, Florida; Vicky Kaufman and husband, A.J., of Bloomingdale, N.J.; Alice Driber and her husband, Ed, of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; Eric Vereschagin and his wife, Erika, of Budd Lake, N.J.; Alicia Furst and her husband, Chris, of Live Oak, Fla;, and Frank Goddard Jr. and his wife, Casey, of Sparrowbush. Nettie also had 14 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Nick, Ryan, Lynda Jean, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Thomas, Tessa, Jarred, Allysen, Chrystal, Dylan, and Devon; and six great-great grandchildren: Hunter, Jenny, Sierra, Kerrance, Jaydance and Sabrina. 

Funeral services were held May 5 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home with the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis.

Renate M. Haduniak

TILLSON - Renate M. Haduniak of Tillson, formerly of Glen Spey, died Feb. 4, 2015, at Vassar Brothers Hospitals, Poughkeepsie. She was 80.

She was born April 28, 1934, in Hultschin, Germany, the daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Kolonko Pautsch.

Renate was married to Yaro Michael Haduniak, who died Jan. 9, 1987.

She worked for Bright Star Industries, a flashlight manufacturer in Clifton, N.J.

She was a member of the Lumberland Senior Citizens Club, where she was honored as the 2000 Senior Citizen of the Year, and the Rosendale Senior Citizens Club. She was a past member of the German Club in Shohola, Pa. 

A family statement read: “She enjoyed cooking, gardening and baking. Her family and friends always looked forward to traditional homemade dinners and desserts whenever they were together. She was a very talented seamstress, who also enjoyed crocheting and knitting things for family and friends. She was called often for advice on cooking and other household dilemmas. She knew a little about everything and would always have an idea. Her advice will be dearly missed by many.” 

She is survived by her son, Roman Haduniak, of Lancaster, Pa.; her daughter, Larysa Kinder and her husband, Claus, of Cottekill; her beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Kinder; two nieces, Tetiana Cymbal and Ulana Semenuik and their families; nephew George Hirniak and family; several nieces and nephews in Germany; and her faithful dog, Gizmo.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Edith Nebel and Herta Hirniak. 

A burial of cremains will be held at noon Saturday, May 9, at the Glen Spey Cemetery, with the Rev. George Lagrutta officiating.

Robert C. Tripp, Sr.

PORT JERVIS - Robert C. Tripp, Sr., of Port Jervis, died May 4, 2015, at his home. He was 77.

He was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Port Jervis, the son of the late Arthur E. and Gertrude Corey Tripp.

Bob was a retired truck driver for Union Local No. 710 of Mokena, Illinois, and Local No. 560 of Union City, N.J.

Bob was a member of the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Tri-State Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Minisink Trail Hunting Club, and the Mountain Stream Rod & Gun Club in Eldred.

He was a former member of the Maghogomock Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1, Port Jervis Fire Department.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Spending his time with his family was the joy of his life.

He married Sylvia Wood Tripp, and this August they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He is survived by his beloved wife Sylvia at home; his two sons, Robert C. Tripp Jr. and his wife, Edith, of Port Jervis, and Scott Tripp and his wife, Jill, of Uniontown, Ohio; his two daughters, Karen Balmos and her husband, Harold, of Port Jervis, and Deborah Gamble and her husband, Pat, of Orange Park, Florida. He was known as “Pop” and “Poppy” to his five grandchildren: Moose Balmos and his wife, Carrie; Staci Zingarelli and her husband, James; Robert Tripp III and his finance, Brittany; and Hayden and Jenna Tripp; three great-grandchildren: Jacob and Amber Balmos, and Sawyer Zingarelli; one niece and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Emily Rose, and his brother, Arthur Tripp.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate. Interment will follow at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville.
