Susquehanna Township joins Northern, Big Spring as third Mid-Penn school to announce COVID-19 forced athletic shutdowns Tuesday

Make it three Mid-Penn schools Tuesday with COVID-19 forced athletic shutdowns.

Susquehanna Township postponed its girls basketball game at Trinity Tuesday night, and Indians athletic director Victoria Ivey told PennLive boys and girls basketball games have been postponed due to virus concerns.

She said practice will resume next week, and all games are being rescheduled.

The news comes after Northern athletic director Gerald Schwille told PennLive earlier in the day that his school’s athletic programs would be shut down for at least a week after a spike in COVID-19 cases at the school triggered a mandatory shutdown.

Also, The Carlisle Sentinel reported that Big Spring girls basketball’s next five games have been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns with the team.
