Attention, burger aficionados. Are you known for your burger grilling skills? Do you have a knack for coming up with a great burger and pairing it other flavor combinations?

Sutter Home Winery’s Build A Better Burger Contest is coming to Detroit. The contest is now in its 29th year. This is a chance to put your best burger forward for a shot at winning $25,000 and a trip to Napa Valley, California, to compete as a finalist.

You can enter your burger recipes now through 11:59 p.m. July 31 at https://buildabetterburgercontest.com/, where you will also find official rules.

Detroit is one of five regions across the country that will have a cook-off where semi-finalists from this region compete in live grilling event. Sutter Home’s panel of judges reviews entries in advance and then selects the top four semi-finalist competitors in each of the five regions. The regional winner goes on to compete in the National Finals taking place on the grounds of the winery in Napa Valley in October.

Semi-finalists will be select on Aug. 12. The Detroit cook-off takes place near Comerica Park at 4 p.m. Aug. 28. If you're in a need of some burger inspiration, you’ll find past winning recipes at https://buildabetterburgercontest.com/ including several metro area cooks who made it to the finals.
