Lady Devils fall against Cherokee

Dec. 29—SNELLVILLE — Tift County's Lady Devils were felled Wednesday night at the Deep South Classic, dropping a 60-49 contest to Cherokee.

Head coach Julie Conner said her team made a big comeback, as they trailed by 22 at halftime.

Tamyra Carter scored 19 points, with five three-pointers in the fourth quarter. Shakiria Chaney scored 13 points and Braxton Gipson added 8.

Tift plays again Thursday, but not at Deep South. Because of cancelations, the Lady Devils head north to Sequoyah High School and Canton, where they will play North Cobb at noon.
