An early morning shooting in Chicago on Wednesday injured three authorities who were working together on an undercover investigation, officials said.

A Chicago cop and a pair of federal agents for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were each shot near a police station in the Morgan Park neighborhood of the Illinois city, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Someone opened fire at the authorities on an onramp near 119th Street, officials said.

The gunfire left the Chicago cop with a graze wound to the head, according to the Chicago Tribune.

None of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening, and they were each treated at the Christ Medical Center.

The names of the wounded officials have not been released, but Police superintendent David Brown confirmed the cop who was shot is a male, and that the agents who were shot are a male and a female.

“This is a very challenging time to be in law enforcement but they are rising to the challenge of doing all they can,” Brown said during a news conference Wednesday. “And the work they do is extremely dangerous.”

No arrests have been made. Officials are searching for a vehicle involved in the incident.

Officials confirmed the shooting occurred before 6:03 a.m. local time, which is when state troopers were asked to help with the case.
