Visions galore at Bahrain forum

Manama:  The key performance indicator of any government official is the satisfaction of the citizens with the services provided to them, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Urging all government officials to work towards meeting Bahraini citizens’ needs, Prince Khalifa said, “If the citizens are satisfied, officials should review their performance and make improvements to reach this goal.”
HRH Premier was speaking in the high-level Government Forum 2016 held here yesterday. Held under the patronage of Prince Khalifa, the Forum was attended by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The first-of-its-kind Government Forum 2016 brought together government executives from all levels to explore ways in which even greater sustainable diversification and economic prosperity can be delivered to meet citizens’ needs.
Stressing on the importance of monitoring and evaluating government performance, he said that all plans and programmes should be in line with Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Action Plan (GAP).
“If the development programmes fail to improve citizens’ lives, they have to be modified. It should fulfil the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for ensuring prosperous lives for all Bahrainis,” the Premier explained.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, the Crown Prince stated that the government relishes a challenge and has a passion for achievement. “This will underpin the future growth of the Kingdom to benefit citizens, in line with the directives of HM the King.”
Prince Salman added that citizens are at the core of the development goals, and the success of Bahrain’s development depends on the achievement of meeting citizens’ aspirations.  The Forum also featured a number of panel discussions throughout the day. (More reports on Pages 2,3,4,5)
