The home sustained fire damage in a bedroom and smoke damage throughout the residence, said Brenda Stokes, fire district spokeswoman. Stokes said the fire originated in a bedroom and was caused by an electrical malfunction. No one was injured.

Photos provided by the Fire District show flames erupting from a window and heavy smoke emitting from the roof.

The Red Cross “virtually responded” to the incident, the agency stated.

Red Cross volunteers have been trained to follow safety procedures and protocols to continue serving communities during the coronavirus outbreak, officials said. Volunteers help people on a virtual basis through phone and the use of video conferencing technology.
