Five underage children have been arrested and charged with murder for the senseless killing of Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets, RadarOnline.com can report.

According to police, the lead singer of rock band Carverton was shot outside his house on Thursday, February 7, by a group of kids ages 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Cops said the children were driving a stolen Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck in the alley behind Yorlets’ home when they saw him outside, and jumped him. The kids — three girls and two boys — allegedly shot the 24-year-old after he refused to hand over the keys to his car. They had already stolen his wallet, the police said in a statement.

Yorlets made it inside his home after getting shot, where one of his housemates found him. He was soon taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and was tragically pronounced dead.

Yorlets' Carverton bandmates shared an emotional statement on Facebook following his tragic death.

“On February 7, 2019 we lost our brother, best friend, and bandmate Kyle Yorlets,” they wrote. “We are in a state of shock and are having to grasp the reality that is now in front of us. We are heartbroken. Our condolences for his family and loved ones and all the lives that he touched. We will never forget Kyle, and though he is gone too soon his legacy is here to stay.”

His brother, Jonathan Detman, also spoke to RadarOnline.com, saying "We are still trying to grasp everything at the moment."

In a press release published on their Facebook page, police confirmed North Precinct detectives charged the five children with criminal homicide.

They also revealed the names of three of the juvenile killers: Roniyah McKnight, 14, Diamond Lewis, 15, and Decorrius Wright, 16. Also charged were a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, though Tennessee law prohibits the identification of suspects under age 13.

After the shooting, police tracked down the kids and found them at the West Nashville WalMart on Charlotte Pike. There, all five were arrested.

A loaded nine-millimeter pistol, which had been reported stolen, was recovered from them and a second loaded and stolen pistol was recovered from inside the store.

The District Attorney's office will determine if any of the suspects will be charged as adults.
