Journalist Calls Meek Mill Out For Mocking Women Wearing Lace-Front Wigs

Yesha Callahan slammed the rapper for downplaying his tweets criticizing women.

On Tuesday, Meek Mill went on a surprising Twitter rant against lace-front wigs. As the tweets began to draw criticism, Meek fired back and said his posts on the platform are not "real life," which prompted an intense response from journalist Yesha Callahan.

In a series of tweets, Meek said he's "protesting" lace-front wigs and described why he dislikes seeing a wig on a woman. When people started coming for Meek, he responded, "Why y’all be so serious on here 😔😔😔 this stuff is not real life relax ..."

Callahan then responded to Meek's tweet and referenced how Twitter was real life when it helped bring attention to his time in prison.

"Was it real life when people were using Twitter to rally behind you when you were in prison?" Callahan responded in reference to the several hashtags and trends used to help free Meek Mill.

Callahan's comment received nearly 200 responses and spawned a new debate thread. Most people criticized the journalist for treating Meek's tweet too seriously.

However, some rushed to Callahan's defense and argued his tweets actually dehumanize and belittle Black woman for choosing to wear wigs.
