Dr. Mia Kajanjian, of Norwalk Radiology Consultants, scours images gathered from high-tech 2D and 3D mammography, searching for signs of trouble.
Kazanjian says she worries when she hears women are putting off getting mammograms due to COVID-19.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, statistics show breast cancer screening declined 87% when the pandemic first peaked last year.
Kazanjian and her team will be participating in next Sunday's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
Norwalk Radiology Consultants is a local sponsor for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and News 12 Connecticut is a media sponsor for two decades.
