AMBOY, Ind. (AP) - Three children have been injured in a house fire northeast of Kokomo in central Indiana.
The blaze was reported about 10:48 a.m. Saturday in Amboy, the Kokomo Tribune reported.
Miami County sheriff’s office Chief Deputy Dave Vitek said their mother was able to initially flee the burning house but was prevented from going back inside due to the flames and heavy smoke.
The children were rescued from an upstairs bedroom by firefighters and taken to hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
