Jackson State football schedules 'important announcement' for Monday morning

Jackson State athletics announced Sunday evening that it will be making an "important announcement about the status of its football program" at 9 a.m. CT on Monday.

The Tigers are expected to announce NFL Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders as their next head football coach. A source confirmed to the Clarion Ledger that Sanders will be the hire.

Because of COVID-19 precautions this event will not be opened to the public. There will, however, be a live stream available to watch. The Clarion Ledger will host the live stream on this website. Check back in the morning to watch the announcement.

Jackson State is not playing football this fall but is scheduled to play with the rest of the SWAC in the spring in a shortened season.
