MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State will begin its fifth season of action on Friday night, as the Wildcats visit Morgantown, West Virginia, to face West Virginia at 6 p.m.
• Friday night's match will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, as Andrew Caridi (play-by-play) and Adam Zundell (analyst) will have the call. The match will also be available on 101.5 KROCK in Manhattan and for free at kstatesports.com, as Mitch Fortner will call the action.
• Following Friday's match at West Virginia, K-State will play three of its next four matches at Buser Family Park. The Wildcats will host TCU on Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m., to begin the stretch.
• K-State returns 17 letterwinners for the 2020 season. Brookelynn Entz, the first All-Big 12 selection in program history as a second team recipient, returns for her senior season as the team's top returning scorer with 10 points in 2019.
• In addition to the returners, the Wildcats have added 11 newcomers to the 2020 roster.
Weekend in Review
• K-State hosted its second-ever season-opener at Buser Family Park, as the Wildcats welcomed in defending Big 12 regular season champion Oklahoma State on Saturday, September 12. The Cowgirls downed the Wildcats, 3-0, with the help of a pair of early goals.
• The match between the Wildcats and Cowgirls came together on Friday afternoon, as both programs had their original season-openers with Texas Tech and Oklahoma, respectively, postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests during the week. Saturday's match replaced the original meeting which was scheduled for November 6 in Manhattan.
• K-State's opening match starting 11 featured seven underclassmen, including freshman goalkeeper Alaina Werremeyer. Werremeyer was the second true freshman in program history to start a season-opener between the pipes since Tania Chassot in the first match in program history on Aug. 19, 2016, at Saint Louis.
• In the second half, K-State held a 6-5 edge in total shots.
Entire Schedule to Be Streamed
• Despite playing only nine matches this fall, K-State fans will be able to view the entirety of the schedule on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and on the Longhorn Network. This will be the first time in its brief history that K-State fans can watch every match of the season.
• Eight of K-State's matches will be aired on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. K-State's match at Texas on October 9 will be broadcast on Longhorn Network.

The Road Mostly Traveled
• Since the start of the program in 2016, K-State has played almost 40 matches away from Manhattan.
• K-State set a program best three-match road unbeaten streak (1-0-2) in the 2018 season. The stretch started with a 0-0 draw at San Jose State on September 2, continued with a second 0-0 draw at Indiana and the Wildcats picked up their first win in the stretch with a 3-0 decision at Tulsa on Sept. 16.
• Overall, the Wildcats are 6-26-7 in road matches in their history.
• In the 39 road matches, the Wildcats have been outscored by its opponents, 61-26 (-35).
• In 2017, K-State tallied a program best three road wins.
Several Wildcats Make Debut
• K-State's 2020 roster includes 11 newcomers including one redshirt freshman (Cameron Illingworth) and nine true freshmen.
• Freshman goalkeeper Alaina Werremeyer became just the second true freshman goalkeeper for the Wildcats to make her collegiate debut between the pipes in a season-opener and first since Tania Chassot in the first match in program history at Saint Louis on August 19, 2016.
• Joining Werremeyer in the season-opening starting lineup and making her collegiate debut was freshman defender Presli Pearson. In total seven Wildcats made their collegiate debuts against Oklahoma State, as Marissa Gohr, Lily Hollis, Erin Morrissey, Lily Parker and Maddie Weichel all saw action off the bench.
Versatile Baxter
• Christina Baxter was tasked with playing at all three levels for Kansas State last season.
• Baxter had a goal and an assist and played a career-high 1,217 minutes this season. Her three points against Gonzaga on September 12 are tied for third in program history for points in a single match.
• For her career, Baxter has scored a goal in all three seasons of her career. She owns three goals and two assists. She ranks tied for ninth in program history for career goals and tied for eighth for career points (8).
• When Baxter has scored a goal, K-State is 2-1-0.
