Jerry Jones' ostentatious yacht would look good moored outside of the University of Washington's Husky Stadium.

Instead, everyone connected to the NFL draft in Seattle are landlubbers.

That's what happens when you get shut out of the first round, as the Huskies did on Thursday night. You don't have enough money to buy a big boat.

Quarterback Jacob Eason appears certain to go to  his pro football destination on Friday, with a good possibility that tight end Hunter Bryant and center Nick Harris might join him.

Join us in our live blog.

Friday, April 24, 4 p.m. PT

ESPN shows Eason and family and friends at home, seated on sectional couches or hanging out in the kitchen, in his hometown of Lake Stevens, Washington.

Jacob is dressed casually for the second day of the draft, wearing a light blue T-shirt and black shorts.

His parents flank him in this sitting room.

Tony Eason was a Notre Dame tight end, coming out of Snohomish High School, though he didn't pursue an NFL career.

4:35 p.m. PT

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos from Penn State goes to Carolina.

Why is that significant?

More draft analysts had him coming to Seattle, drafted by the Seahawks in the first round, more than anyone else.

4:55 p.m. PT

Laviska Shenault Jr., Colorado wide receiver, is Pac-12's second second-day draftee with pick No. 42.

An explosive dude, he should be a good pro.

ESPN just showed highlights of him schooling then-Husky freshman Trent McDuffie, taking the ball away from the cornerback in the end zone.

5:18 p.m. PT

No movement on Jacob Eason or any of the other Huskies considered second-day possibilities with the Seahawks are next up in making their second selection.

5:20 p.m. PT

John Schneider has a big 12 flag on his wall as he prepares to make pick No. 48, acquired in a  trade with the New York Jets.

Seahawks take defensive end Darrell Taylor from Tennessee, apparently a converted linebacker.

Lean and fast.

And one more adjective.

Juice?

ESPN's Booger McFarland describes Taylor's energy in a unique fashion

Back to the Schneider household. John's getting kisses. His kid is pointing at the TV screen, obviously seeing himself and the family beamed everywhere.

5:25 p.m. PT

Steelers take a Northwest guy: Chase Claypool.

Yep.

He's from Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Wide receiver.

Big and fast.

Played at Notre Dame.

Caught 13 TD passes.

Wonder why Washington didn't get him?

Did the Huskies know about him?

5:36 p.m. PT

Shot of Jerry Jones sitting on his $250 million yacht as Cowboys get ready to make second-round pick.

Irony of all ironies: Salvation Army logo visible next to Cowboys logo on TV screen behind Mr. Jones.

Rich man, poor man.

5:42 p.m. PT

A quarterback is the pick.

Transfer guy from the South.

No, not Eason.

Jalen Hurts, formerly of Alabama and an Oklahoma finisher, goes to the Philadelphia Eagles with pick No. 53.

ESPN analyst calls him possibly another Russell Wilson.

That's five QBs off the board.

No Eason yet.

5:57 p.m. PT

Eight picks left in the second round.

Will Jacob Eason get tabbed before we go to Round 3?

None of the teams left appear to need a QB.

 6:03 p.m. PT

ESPN zeroes in on Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm, former Georgia teammates, at their respective residences.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.

Eason looks somber.

Former NFL QB Kurt Warner makes note of Jacob's big arm.

Fromm laughed when he heard Warner describe him "as not the physically talented player but a really smart quarterback."

Warner's sobering message: "There's not a lot demand around the league for a quarterback."

6:07 p.m. PT

Offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland of Boise State goes with the 58th pick to Minnesota.

Significance?

He's from Spanaway, Washington.

Bethan High School.

He's a 6-foot-6, 311-pounder.

Signed by Scott Huff, now Washington's offensive-line coach.

Recruited by the Huskies.

His stock went up as the draft got near.

6:15 p.m. PT

New England is up.

Needs a quarterback, if you didn't know.

Will the Patriots?

Could they?

Would they?

Nope.

Pats took Michigan linebacker Josh Uche.

Town of Lake Stevens nervously exhales.

6:38 p.m. PT

Two rounds are in.

No Huskies taken in the first 64 picks.

Might explain why they were 8-5 this past season.

Eason is still waiting for an NFL home.

7:35 p.m. PT

Kiper weighs in on five best picks left in the draft with 14 picks and supplementals left.

Eason is one of them.

Kiper's assessment: "Rocket arm. Imposing size. Obviously some fourth-quarter struggles."

7:42 p.m. PT

Cameras zoom into Eason home and Jacob is practically prone on the sectional couch. He doesn't look happy.

8:07 p.m. PT

Seven choices left.

Will Eason get picked on Day 2?

8:10 p.m. PT

New England trades up.

Looking for a Brady replacement?

Nope.

UCLA tight end.

8:15 p.m. PT

Not looking good for Jacob Eason.

What does he do if he doesn't get picked?

Can't go to the local tavern.

Probably can't go anywhere.

Do you go for a run through Lake Stevens?

Let out your frustration on a pint of ice cream?

8:25 p.m. PT

Piper says the two best guys out there are Dayton tight end Adam Trautman and Eason.

8:36 p.m. PT

The analysts tossed around their thoughts on why Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm, the Georgia teammates, are still available.

Warner again reiterated that NFL teams are not in great need of QBs, outside of the first five taken earlier.

Mel Kiper's advice:

"Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm, we're only in the third round. Relax."

8:50 p.m. PT

Eason's best chance to go in the third round just disappeared.

The Patriots took another tight end, their second, to replace Gronk.

Five picks left till we call it a night.

8:56 p.m. PT

Philly, Raiders Vikings and Ravens are all that's left.

Davion Taylor, Colorado linebacker, picked by Eagles with 103rd pick.

Highlights show him sacking ... Eason.

Next pick, safety Terrell Burgess of Utah, shown in highlights chasing down UW running back Salvon Ahmed who took a handoff from ... Eason.

8:58 p.m. PT

Tight end Adam Trautman picked by New Orleans, which traded up to get him.

He was the best player available on Kiper's list.

The new best player available is ... Eason.

9:02 p.m. PT

Final pick of the third round.

Ravens on the clock.

One hundred and six picks are in.

Three rounds done.

No Huskies taken.

No Cougars either.

No Jacob Eason.

Armchair quarterback muse: Eason should have waited another season to cash in.

No?

This absence of UW players might explain why the Huskies were no better than 8-5 this past season.

Mel Kiper Jr. sounded out this message:

"Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm, we're only in the third round. Relax."
