HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Katie Melinda Rohland, born March 11, 1958 in a Kinston, North Carolina hospital and adopted shortly thereafter by William and Lucy Elaine Rohland lost her fight with cancer on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Katie attended Oakwood Elementary School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then attended and graduated from Hickory High School in 1976.

Katie worked for various car production factories including ATC in Geneva, Ohio and retired in August from UAJC (formerly PennTechQ) in Transfer, Pennsylvania after 26 years. From 1992-1994 she worked for Farrell Area School District as a school bus driver and enjoyed driving the students to and from their football games and band performances.

Katie was a loving mother, daughter, sister and wife. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Michael Albanese; her daughter, Michele Elaine Albanese Tota; son-in-law, Joseph Tota and two grandsons, Gage Michael and Levi Jackson; her stepson, Michael Albanese, Jr. and his wife, Susan and grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Kobe and Cordelia Albanese. Katie truly enjoyed her grandchildren and was so proud of the young adults her older grandchildren were growing up to be.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Lucy Elaine Rohland, both of Kinston, North Carolina (also formerly of the Hermitage, Pennsylvania area) and her sister, Jennifer Marie Rohland Frank. 

Due to the COVID-19 Virus a memorial service will be held at a later date

Arrangements are being handled by John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
