CONNECTICUT — The state's coronavirus positivity rate rose very slightly in the data released Friday by the Department of Public Health, but it remains as low as it has been since the first week in March.

An additional 1,062 cases of the coronavirus were confirmed, bringing that total to 329,062. With 46,768 tests reported, the daily positivity rate now sits at 2.27 percent.

Coronavirus-associated deaths across the state rose by five on Thursday. The COVID-19 death toll in Connecticut now stands at 7,995.

Hospitalizations dropped back below 500 in the latest report from DPH. The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized fell by 19 beds, bringing the total number across the state to 486.

Connecticut continues to rank among the top three states in the nation that have administered the most vaccines per capita. Over half the state has now had at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to DPH.
