As Kansas families still work to recover from a devastating tornado that tore through Lawrence and Linwood, Nebraska Furniture Mart is partnering with a major furniture manufacturer to help ease their burdens.NFM has partnered with Ashley Furniture to donate 780 pieces of furniture to victims of that storm. “As an organization, we were devastated to see the damage these storms had, both emotionally and physically, on the lives of the people we share our community with," said Kansas City Store Director, Ethan Stover. "It is our sincere hope that through our strategic partnership with Ashley Furniture, we can, in some small way, help to restore a sense of normalcy for those affected."Ashley Furniture provided $450,000 worth of bedroom furniture, living room furniture, mattresses, bedding and dining room furniture to be donated through NFM, the Douglas County Community Foundation and the Salvation Army. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims affected by these devastating tornados,” said Todd Wanek, President and CEO of Ashley. “We hope this donation will aid these victims as they begin the rebuilding process.”In a release, NFM said anybody affected by the recent natural disasters who may be having a difficult time recovering to reach our for assistance.
