Timothée Chalamet to play Bob Dylan in movie about singer’s move to electric guitar

“Little Women” star Timothée Chalamet is expected to play folk music legend Bob Dylan in an upcoming feature film, a report said on Monday.

The 24-year-old actor — who played “Laurie” in the Greta Gerwig adaptation of a Louisa May Alcott novel — will play the role of Dylan during his controversial transition to electric guitar in the 1960s, according to Variety.

The Fox Searchlight film, “Going Electric,” is directed by James Mangold, who also made “Ford v Ferrari.”

Deadline reported that Chalamet is “taking guitar lessons so he can familiarize himself with the acoustic and electric guitar.”

Chalamet also starred in Netflix’s historical drama “The King” and will star in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune,” Variety said.

The 2007 Dylan biopic “I’m Not There” features six actors playing the artist: Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Ben Whishaw.
