GOLDONNA, LA (KSLA) - The police chief of Goldonna, Louisiana has been arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Natchitoches Sheriff's Office.

Johnny Earl Rowell, 63, was arrested Friday morning by NPSD investigators after he reported to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division, Sheriff Victor Jones said.

Rowell was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with 1 count of malfeasance in office and 1 count of accessory after the fact.

The arrest is the result of an investigation involving a relative of Chief Johnny Rowell, said Detective Greg Dunn, Natchitoches Parish Chief of Investigations.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and received statements that resulted in enough probable cause to obtain criminal arrest warrants on Chief Rowell for his alleged involvement in the case, Dunn said.
