Sheriff report: Three motorcyclists seriously injured in June 8 crash at Mountain

MOUNTAIN – Three people were seriously injured in when a car and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Highway 32 and Maiden Lake Road in the town of Riverview.

The driver of the car, Jayne Balgeman, 76, of Antioch, Illinois, was eastbound on Maiden Lake Road and proceeded from a stop sign to continue east as the road changed to Paya Lake Road, but collided with a motorcycle about 3 p.m. on June 8.

The driver of the motorcycle, James Dzurick, 57, of Marinette, and his passenger, Jill Dzurick, 56, of Marinette, were both thrown off.

A second motorcycle driven by Mark Boos, 57, of Beloit, made an evasive maneuver to avoid the other vehicles, and was laid down on the pavement, skidding to the northeast corner of the intersection.

James Dzurick was taken by helicopter to a hospital, while Jill Dzurick and Boos were transported by ambulances to area hospitals for treatment.

Balgeman was cited with failure to yield right of way from a stop sign-resulting in bodily harm. She and her passenger, Jerald Balgeman, 79, were not hurt.

4:39 p.m. – motorcycle accident in the town of Maple Valley. Samuel Leurquin, 24, of Suring, was southbound on Highway 32, struck a deer and lost control and skidded to a stop in the roadway just south of Tilman Road. Leurquin, who was transported for treatment or a minor injury, was cited for operating a motorcycle without a valid license.

7:14 a.m. – criminal damage, 13000 block of Highway 32/64, Mountain.

2:31 p.m. – one-vehicle crash in the town of Riverview. Chad Stauffacher, 49, of Townsend, was eastbound on Tar Dam Road, and drove off the road while lighting a cigarette, striking a tree and bushes just east of Holt’s Spur Lane. Stauffacher was transported for treatment of a minor injury.

Laura Liegeois, 18, of Little Suamico, was east on County S and proceeded after stopping at stop sign at intersection with County S, and was struck by a northbound tow truck driven by Joshua Topel, 35, of Green Bay. Liegeois, who was wearing a seatbelt and transported for treatment of a suspected serious injury, was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.
