Kalamazoo man killed when deer ran into motorcycle in Allegan County

At 2:15 a.m. Sunday, the Allegan County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle crash that proved to be fatal.

Deputies arrived at the scene, southbound US-131 in Martin Township and found a 43-year-old Kalamazoo man, who was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger who was injured.

The investigation showed a deer struck the motorcycle on the highway.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Gun Lake Tribal Police Department, Otsego Police Department, Plainwell Department of Public Safety, Martin Fire Department, Hopkins Fire Department, Wayland Fire Department, Wayland Area EMS and Plainwell EMS.
