It was a busy week on the business beat, with multiple businesses making big announcements about the Lubbock market.

An Italian restaurant closed this week, another bank will open soon and a brand has plans to expand.

Campisi's

Signs on the doors of Campisi's Restaurant at 4414 82nd St. notified customers and employees that the Italian restaurant permanently closed Monday.

The sign to employees said the business closure was effective immediately and that employees would be paid this week. The sign to guests thanked customers, the neighborhood and friends for their support and patronage.

The Lubbock location of Campisi's opened in the fall of 2016 and was the first outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where the restaurant was founded in 1946. Owner David Campisi is a graduate of Texas Tech, where he remains an active alumnus in the Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management program.

The 82nd Street and Quaker Avenue location has been home to several restaurants in recent years, including Zookini's and Zio's Italian Restaurant.

Chase Bank

A branch of Chase Bank, the first in the Lubbock market, will soon open in the North Overton area.

A building permit filed last week shows Chase Bank will occupy the former Starbuck's location at 801 University Ave., Suite A. The bank is expected to open late summer, according to Greg Hassel, a regional spokesman for Chase Bank.

Signs on the windows of the location read the bank is "coming soon." Inside, the food and coffee bar has been ripped out and the place is empty.

Currently, the closest Chase Bank branch is in Levelland. The JPMorgan Chase & Co. entity will join 25 other banking institutions in Lubbock County, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The new Lubbock location is part of a nationwide expansion, Hassel said.

Twin Peaks

Sports lodge Twin Peaks is coming to Lubbock.

The company announced last week that it would partner with Permian Entertainment LLC to bring four locations to Lubbock, Abilene, Amarillo and Wichita Falls within the next three years.

No word yet on potential locations.

"We have been wanting to expand into West Texas ever since we started franchising, and we feel very fortunate to have this triple threat leading the way there,” said Twin Peaks CEO Joe Hummel in a news release. “We look forward to working with these talented business men and their team as they scout locations and share our made-from-scratch food and ice cold brews with communities across West Texas.”

Texas-based Twin Peaks has 81 locations in 25 states. The Hooters-like restaurant features made-from-scratch food and cold beer.
