A passenger raised awareness towards a “germaphobic, snobbish, heartless and insensitive” Grab driver who allegedly refused to give him a ride after seeing his minor abrasions.

“Please be aware of this Grab driver,” said the passenger, as quoted by Instagram page @sgfollowsall on Monday (Aug 8).

According to the post, the passenger was injured with small abrasions and wanted a ride to Sengkang General Hospital.

“The driver accepted (the booking), and when he arrived, he saw my abrasions.”

“In his snobbish rudeness, (he) told me not to get into his car because he don’t take injured riders to hospital.”

The passenger added that the driver told him to call an ambulance instead.

“He told me, ‘injured rider cannot take Grab to hospital’ ever heard of such rules from Grab.”

“I hope those future passengers with small injuries or abrasions do take note of this driver when he accepts your trip to hospital, he might be germophobic or maybe just full of crap,” the passenger added.

Netizens responded to the video, noting it was the driver’s discretion to reject a booking. “Just cancel and book another. Simple and fuss-free,” said Instagram user @limgerry.

“To be fair, I wouldn’t want someone’s blood in my personal car, so I would have half of his defense, but on the other hand, he could at least ask him to wrap it first before entering, I wouldn’t do it for the passenger. Some might start a fight regarding this, but it’s the truth; let’s be real,” added Instagram user @shuriyaro.

Although Grab’s website states that bookings can be cancelled for Covid-19-related reasons, the guidelines are not as defined regarding injured passengers.
