WILLMAR — The Peters family enjoyed some outside time Thursday afternoon in Willmar in place of a typical recess during the school day.
Two daughters are in pre-kindergarten and the other in second grade at Prairie Woods Elementary School in New London. The sisters have been distance learning for several weeks now.
To establish a routine, their family has been enjoying walks, rollerblading and even hoverboarding around the local neighborhood for recess while the schools are closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We've been doing this almost everyday except when it's cold," Christy Peters said. "It's been a nice way to get out of the house."
