Post 5 Seniors win rain-shortened game vs. Warriors

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Jefferson City Post 5 Seniors won 5-1 in a rain-shortened five-inning game against the Omaha (Neb.) Warriors, the team's final game before the Zone Tournament.

Jefferson City scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning, taking the lead with a bases-clearing double to center field by Zach Stiles.

Post 5 took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Mason Hansen opened the inning with a double and then scored on a groundout by Josef Keilholz.

Omaha tied the game at 1 with an RBI single in the fourth.

Joseph Travis was the winning pitcher for Jefferson City. He went four innings and allowed one run on two hits - both singles in the fourth - and finished with two walks and three strikeouts.

Jacob Adrian had a multi-hit game with two singles.

The Post 5 Seniors (19-7) will host the Missouri American Legion AAA Zone 1 Tournament, which is scheduled to begin Thursday at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex.
