Unioto's Jocie Fisher, Waverly's Easton Wolf commit to schools over weekend

Waverly’s Easton Wolf announced his commitment to play college football at Southern Illinois University this weekend.

CHILLICOTHE – Over the weekend, two local athletes announced where they will take their talents to on the collegiate level.

Waverly’s Easton Wolf announced his commitment to play college football at Southern Illinois University, while Unioto's Jocie Fisher committed to play college volleyball at Alderson Broaddus University.

Fisher is coming off a season in which she tied for sixth in the Scioto Valley Conference in kills per game, notching 276 total kills for a 3.3-per-game average, according to SVC Sports Zone. She also tied for fifth in blocks per game at 0.7 as she had 62 total blocks on the year. She was also on the all-SVC team and was the Division II Southeast District Player of the Year.

Wolf was the Division IV Southeast District Player of the Year this past season on the gridiron and was first team All-Ohio.

“I want to thank all my family, friends, and coaches that have helped me throughout my career to get to this point,” Wolf said in a statement on Twitter. “I also want to thank coach [Chris] Crabtree for helping me out in the recruiting process and coach [Nick] Hill for giving me this amazing opportunity.”

Wolf had 59 catches for 1,196 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on the year to go with 84 tackles on defense and two interceptions. 

Fisher will officially sign her letter of intent at 1 p.m. Friday and Wolf will sign his Feb. 6.
