HABERSHAM CENTRAL at WHITE COUNTY
-- WHEN: 7:30 p.m.
-- WHERE: Warriors Stadium, Cleveland
-- RADIO: 93.9 FM WRWH
-- HABERSHAM CENTRAL (1-1, 0-0 Region 8-6A): Off last week; defeated Apalachee 27-7 two weeks ago
-- WHITE COUNTY (1-2, 0-0 Region 8-6A): Defeated Pickens 20-7 last week
-- NOTABLE: Habersham Central leads series 7-4. White County won 28-21 in 2020 in Mt. Airy. ... This has turned into one of the better rivalries in Northeast Georgia over the past decade. Eight of the meetings have been since 2012 with the Warriors holding a 4-3 edge in that span. Three of the latest five meetings have gone down to the final play. ... White County finally put things together last week after a rough beginning. Look for them to continue to use a two QB system with Sr. Billy Carder and Fr. Tripp Nix, who have both looked good at times and not-so-good at times so far. They are far off their pace of 39.7 ppg in 2020 but may be close to finding the right combinations and still have dynamic playmakers Silas Mulligan and Darius Cannon. ... The Raiders have reworked their defense, especially the secondary, which may hold the key to this one as they will try to slow down Cannon and a good Warriors’ WR group. But they also have 17 TFL on the season as a group in two games. ... The Habersham offense has been using its big line to churn out 223 yards/game so far behind Sr. Simarcus Burney (35 car., 200 yards, 1 100-yard game) and So. QB Carson Parker (21 car., 149 yards).  ... The Warriors are allowing 30 ppg on defense and struggled against power-rushing teams Stephens County and Hart County in the opening two weeks.
