Trump on Peter Strzok’s boast he’d ‘stop’ him: ‘Doesn’t get any lower than that’

.

President Trump said Friday that new texts showing that FBI agent Peter Strzok wanted to “stop” Trump from winning the White House is a new low for the FBI.

“FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who headed the Clinton & Russia investigations, texted to his lover Lisa Page, in the IG Report, that ‘we’ll stop’ candidate Trump from becoming President. Doesn’t get any lower than that!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The inspector general’s report on the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation was released Thursday. While it concluded that political bias in the FBI did not affect the outcome of that investigation, it criticized former FBI investigator Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who were having an affair, for their anti-Trump texts suggesting that they would take action against the then Republican candidate.

“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” Page wrote to Strzok in August 2016.

“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok replied.

Strzok was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation in 2017 and Page left her position in May.
