OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – After a CodeRED alert was issued on Friday night in select areas of Oconto County due to a potentially armed and dangerous suspect at large, officials report the suspect was successfully arrested on Saturday morning.

According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, after a long search throughout the Friday night and Saturday morning, at around 7:15 a.m., 24-year-old Cody Krueger was finally arrested after deputies found him hiding in the woods on White Lake Road.

Krueger is wanted for Attempted Homicide in the City of Oconto and had been on the run for nearly one week. To read more about Krueger’s arrest, click here.

Oconto CodeRED alerts of possible armed suspect according to Sheriffs

OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Oconto County Sheriffs Office is searching for a potentially armed suspect.

A resident in Oconto County has shared with Local 5 the CodeRED alert that was sent out to a select area in the county. The message urges people in the location to lock their doors and stay inside, reporting any suspicious activity to the Oconto Dispatch at 920-834-6900 (option one).

The CodeRED looks to be issued Friday and is scheduled to expire the coming Saturday.

Below you can see the message a neighbor sent Local 5 that says the suspect has not been apprehended as of 8:56 p.m. It goes on to say there will be a heavy police presence in the area overnight.

OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office has activated a CodeRED emergency alert system for the county Friday.

Deputies tell Local 5 they could not confirm why the alert system is activated or for how long.
