NEWCOMB SPEEDS AWAY WITH BANDOLERO OUTLAW WIN

BY KYLE SOUZA/SOUZA MEDIA

SEEKONK, Mass. " Isaiah Newcomb seems to have found a burst of energy in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division. The driver of the No. 22 started deeper in the field, but charged to the front, and made easy work of leader Reese Bogue to score the victory in the 15-lap feature.

Nick Chaber Jr. and Stephen Bowden led the field to the green, with Chaber jumping out and leading the first half lap, before Bogue took control. The Fast Friday season hit week seven, with no fans in the grandstands due to COVID-19 protocols in place by the state of Massachusetts.

Bogue, who is no stranger to Victory Lane in the Bandolero's, looked to be heading for another one, before Newcomb stepped on the throttle. As the field crossed for halfway, Newcomb took a look under Bogue, but it wasn't quite enough to make the move. But, by the next lap, Newcomb was under, side-by-side, and clear of Bogue to take the top spot. Newcomb would find himself driving away as the field ran the final six laps, winning by over two seconds in dominating fashion.

Bogue finished second, while PJ Evans returned after a few weeks away from the track to finish third. Stephen Bowden salvaged a fourth-place finish after losing spots early, while Chaber earned a fifth.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division returns to the track next Friday, September 25, with another 15-lap feature. The season is down to the final three weeks.
