Red Cross to provide assistance at Karnack center

KARNACK, TX - Harrison County has received information that the Red Cross will be at the Karnack Community Center on Thursday through Saturday during the hours of 10:00 AM -5:00 PM. This Red Cross assistance will be to deliver information on how to apply for disaster relief and to answer questions regarding the state disaster plan. This is not FEMA related and FEMA has not become involved in this disaster, at this time. A federal disaster has not been declared and until it is declared, FEMA will not be providing federal funding or assistance.

Harrison County has received the State of Texas disaster declaration through County Judge Hugh Taylor's office. A link to information regarding the Harrison County disaster declaration and other assistance forms, is available on the Harrison County Texas website. A link to that website is:

The Emergency Management office for Harrison County in conjunction with Precinct 1 Commissioner William Hatfield's office is arranging for dumpsters and other emergency provisions. The location of these items will be disclosed as the areas for them are secured.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens are patrolling the river and lake areas to curtail boat traffic, as well as other law enforcement duties. The Harrison County Sheriff's Office is patrolling the accessible roadways and assisting the game wardens, as needed.
