Bahrain's Oluwakemi Adekoya leads women's 400-meter field after 1st Round

Bahrain's Oluwakemi Adekoya ran a 52.27 second 400-meter in the 1st Round of at the World Indoors Championships at the Oregon Convention Center on Friday.

Adekoya is the first of 12 runners who advanced to the semifinals, which take place later this evening.

The full list of qualifiers for the semifinals include:

3. Kabange Mupopo (Zambia), 52.72, qualified with fast time

5. Quanera Hayes (USA), 52.98, won heat four

6. Malgorzata Holub (Poland), 53.15, second in heat four

7. Lisanne De Witte (Netherlands), 53.19, second in heat two

8. Bianca Razor (Romania), 53.27, qualified with fast time

9. Samantha Edwards (Antigua and Barbuda), 53.27, qualified with fast time

10. Grace Claxton (Puerto Rico), 53.70, qualified with fast time

11. Justyna Swiety (Poland), 54.24, first in heat three

12. Iveta Putalova (Slovakia), 54.23, second in heat three
