Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight, found dead Sunday, was facing charges he molested a minor

The already tragic situation involving former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight took an even darker turn on Wednesday. Knight, who was found dead on July 8, was reportedly facing six charges of sexual-related crimes involving a minor in the state of Arizona.

TMZ was the first to report the news. Knight’s case, which you can find online via the Arizona Judicial Branch, shows that he was to be charged with two counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, two counts of Molestation of a Child and two counts of Sexual Abuse.

Knight appears to have been arrested initially back on June 13. A warrant for his arrest was also issued for July 9 – one day after he was found dead.

TMZ reports that Knight’s charges allegedly involve a girl under the age of 15.

In court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, prosecutors say some of the abuse took place at the victim’s home — and on her mother’s bed.

Knight was reportedly facing over 50 years in prison, if convicted.

Knight, shortly before his death, posted a video on YouTube, apologizing for living a life of sin.

Knight played at UCLA from 1997-2002 and later had an international career. He passed away at the age of 39.
