Myles Stephenson has said he's "looking out" for Kate Garraway's two children as her husband Derek Draper remains unconscious in hospital.

The Rak-Su singer struck up a bond with the Good Morning Britain presenter as they both appeared on 2019's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, and now he's supporting her son Billy, 10, and 14-year-old daughter Darcey during the difficult time for the family.

"It breaks my heart," the 28-year-old told The Sun. "I have such a close relationship with them all - including Derek.

"Kate knows I am there for her at the drop of a dime - for her and the kids - anything she needs. She has taken me up on the offer a few times, but I don't really want to say what she's asked of.

"It's just about looking out for the kids and being a big brother to them. It's been very hard. All we can do is pray for Derek and pray for Kate and the kids as well."

Draper fell ill with COVID-19 in late March and was later put into an induced coma, however, he is yet to regain consciousness.

Garraway, 53, gave an update on her husband's situation last month as she shared he was "coronavirus-free" but the illness had "wreaked havoc" on his body.

The mother-of-two shared a touching Father's Day post to Instagram back in June where she said her children described Draper as "the Best Dad in the World".

She added: "Whatever happens next I’m afraid it IS going to be a long road, with an uncertain end that isn’t even nearly in sight right now. BUT. This week I am refocusing on hope that as a family we are going to pull together with the support of friends and get through everything come what may.

"Hope- because I know that the amazing people keeping Derek alive, stand shoulder to shoulder with me in NEVER giving up on him and, of course, hope that my wonderful Derek is going to keep fighting this and eventually start to slowly recover."
