A Stockton man was arrested after being identified as the main suspect in several burglary cases in Yolo County, Colusa County and Madera County.

Yolo County sheriff patrol deputies were dispatched to the Dunnigan General Store, located in the 3000 block of County Road 99W in response to a commercial burglary on Sept. 2, according to a Facebook post from the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies were not able to locate the suspect, but learned that approximately $12,300 in lottery tickets were stolen from the store.

After reviewing surveillance videos, deputies determined that the suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Stockton resident Steven Vo, had forced entry into the store with a large crowbar, damaging the front door.

A few days later on Sept.6, the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office released information regarding a gas station burglary that occurred in Arbuckle on Sept. 2. The information released showed Vo committing the crime in the same clothing as when he committed the Dunnigan burglary. The Arbuckle burglary occurred just 30 minutes after the crime at the Dunnigan General Store.

After working with the Colusa detectives, it was also determined that Vo had been involved in another burglary in Madera County. The California Lottery Investigator and the Stockton police detectives, who were the ones to initially identify Vo as he had been arrested by them before for similar crimes, helped detectives learn that Vo had cashed the stolen lottery tickets from Colusa and Yolo County at a liquor store in Stockton.

On Sept. 10, Colusa County, Yolo County and Stockton detectives served a search warrant at Vo’s residence at the 3000 block of Montaro Lane in Stockton. During the search, detectives located the stolen lottery tickets and the clothes Vo had been wearing the night of the burglaries.

Detectives also located a quarter pound of methamphetamine in Vo’s vehicle. Vo was arrested and booked at the San Joaquin County Jail for the possession of methamphetamine for sales and a violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) as he was on PRCS for a conviction of transportation for sales of methamphetamine.

Vo was also charged with the Yolo County burglary and the vandalism that occurred during the crime. Colusa County is conducting an investigation regarding the burglary in their county.

Later, it was determined that Vo was a suspect in a commercial burglary in Woodland. This case is still being investigated.

As of Wednesday, Vo is now in custody at the Stanislaus County Jail for additional burglaries that occurred in Modesto on Sept. 2.
