On Friday, September 28, 2018 Marilynn Nusviken went to her eternal home in heaven from Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo, ND. Marilynn Louise Haugen was born on September 6, 1945 to Jorgen and Agnes (Knudson) Haugen in Breckenridge, MN. She grew up on the family farm/ranch by McLeod, ND and was the third of four children.

Marilynn was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church rural Leonard, ND. She attended and graduated in 1963 from Wyndmere High School . Marilynn then enrolled in St. Luke's Nursing School and graduated in 1966 with a Registered Nurse Degree. During this time, she met and married Wynn Nusviken on June 25, 1967. They had two children Tammy and Wayne. She loved her children and grandchildren Thomas, Jenna, Amelia and Laura.

Marilynn worked as an RN in the Larimore, ND nursing home for a few years before she became a stay-at-home Mom. She also worked in the field alongside her husband as they farmed together near McCanna, ND. When she moved to Fargo, ND, Marilynn also worked in greenhouses and in retail, with selling jewelry as her favorite job.

Marilynn was a member of the Shawnee Women's Quartet, Elm Grove organist, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, Elk Valley WELCA, Niagara Homemakers Club, Horace Lutheran Choir and Horace ALCW. She enjoyed making lefsa, krumkaka, rosettes, entertaining family and friends, sewing and playing dominoes. Marilynn always had a big garden to can and freeze from, and beautiful flowerbeds. She was instrumental in organizing the creation of the Heirlooms of the Haugen Family Cookbook where descendants of John and Anna Haugen have a collection of recipes. Marilynn also organized many family reunions on both sides of the family.

Marilynn is dearly missed by Daughter Tammy (Jon) Bye, Horace, ND; Son Wayne (Janel) Nusviken, Larimore, ND; Grandchildren: Thomas Bye, Jenna, Amelia and Laura Nusviken; Brother Jim (Delores) Haugen, McLeod, ND; Sisters Esther (Lloyd) Tofte, Fargo, ND and Lucille Wade, Sun City, AZ. Nieces Shari Thompson, Abercrombie, ND and Ginger (Scott) Keller, Fargo, ND; Nephews Jerrel (Lisa) Haugen, Fullerton, CA, Glenn (Tracey) Tofte, Carlinville, IL, Nathan (AmyJoy) Tofte, Downs, IL, and Brandon (fiance JoAnna Griem) Wade, Scottsdale, AZ and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Marilynn's life will take place from 3-4 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 30 at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. followed by the Funeral at 11 a.m. Monday October 1 at Horace Lutheran Church in Horace, ND. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Leonard, ND.
