CLEVELAND — 17 more Cleveland residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 181 (with two deaths).
City Hall says the new patients range in age from their 20s to their 60s. The overall number is higher that all but six entire counties in the state of Ohio, with Cuyahoga as a whole leading the way with 781 cases (13 deaths).
Cleveland remains under a proclamation of civil emergency at the direction of Mayor Frank G. Jackson, who on Saturday also announced the city has established an emergency fund to help businesses in the community who have been forced to close indefinitely. The program allows for loans of up to $10,000 with no interest or payments needed through the end of the year, with 1% interest and monthly payments of $150 a month after that.
