Video footage, shared to Snapchat and obtained by CNN affiliate KDKA, showed the alleged January 9 incident of a toddler vaping device.

After breathing in what is believed to contain nicotine, the two-year-old began coughing and crying - while laughing can be heard in the background.

A news release from the Pennsylvania State Police stated: "The child, while observed in the video to be coughing after inhaling from the device, did not display any other visible effects."

The babysitter, a 17-year-old female, was watching the child Thursday evening, with another female, 18, also present at the home.

Neither of the teens prevented the child from putting the vaping device to his mouth.

The Troop A, Indiana Criminal Investigation Unit has launched an investigation after an anonymous tip was shared to youth violence prevention program, Safe2Say.

The boy’s mother, who remains unidentified, told a local NBC affiliate: "I'm in disbelief that they would even laugh or have something like that in reach of a child's possession."

"I'm not trusting nobody anymore to babysit my child."

According to police, the vaping device used in the alleged incident is believed to have contained three percent nicotine, but not THC.

Superintendent Dr. Barbara Parkins - of the United School District of Armagh, Pennsylvania - said in a statement Sunday: “United administration was made aware of the video today, and the matter is being investigated by the authorities.

"We believe that two of our students were involved in the situation. The names of those students were provided to the authorities."

The toddler's parents have been notified by investigators, along with Children and Youth Services.

Both teens are facing charges of Endangering Welfare of Children as the investigation remains active.
