The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent thoughtful cards thanking fans for the well-wishes they received on their first wedding anniversary.

Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, printed the note on the back of a photograph taken at their nuptials at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in May last year.

In the accompanying message, the royal couple said they were 'so touched' by followers who had written to them on their anniversary, calling it 'incredibly kind'.

Photographs of the note were shared on Instagram yesterday by GertsRoyals, who has 4,900 followers.

The photo chosen for the front - and therefore presumably a favourite of the royals - shows them gazing lovingly into each other's eyes as they leave the chapel after the service.

Meanwhile the back of the card featured a note from the royal couple, reading: 'The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were so touched that you wrote on the occasion of their first Wedding Anniversary.

'It was incredibly kind of you, and Their Royal Highnesses send you their warmest thanks and best wishes.'

Royal fans were delighted to see the glimpse of the cards, with one commenting on the post: 'So pretty, can't wait to get mine!'

Another commented: 'They are so cute.'

Another added: 'Lovely picture, I am waiting for mine.'

Once again the photos were sent in Kensington Palace envelopes, despite the Sussexes' staff recently relocating to Buckingham Palace.

It is the third time in recent weeks that well-wishers have received correspondence from the royal couple.

Earlier in September, royal fans received thank you notes for any well-wishing notes for Archie's Christening, in July, and Meghan's birthday, in August.
