EA has confirmed that the CONMEBOL Libertadores update for FIFA 20 will be released for free on March 3rd for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This brings the biggest South American club competition to the FIFA series after EA acquired the license in late 2019. The update size for the consoles will be approximately 4.8 GB on PlayStation 4 and 5.5 GB on Xbox One. So, you’re wondering what exactly will be included. The details follow the trailer.
The CONMEBOL Libertadores update will add two new stadiums and will include teams such as River Plate, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Racing Club, C.A. Independiente, Millonarios, and Universidad Católica. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana, and CONMEBOL Recopa competitions will be playable in both Kick Off and Career modes, with a standalone Libertadores Tournament mode being included too. When the update goes live on March 3rd 28 of the 32 clubs in the competition will be added to the tournament mode with four more randomly chosen from the South American leagues to hit 32. When the final four teams qualify for the tournament in real life they will be added to the game in a separate update. 76 player likenesses will also be added to FIFA 20.
If you’re hoping to see Brazilian league players you’ll be disappointed. While the official crests and logos of teams will be included the players themselves will be generic, and they will also not be in Ultimate Team. Boca Juniors and River Plate will have full likenesses within the CONMEBOL Libertadores Kick Off and standalone Tournament modes. However, in regular Career mode, Kick Off, and Ultimate Team the club names and crests will be generic. In terms of other Ultimate Team information EA has stated the following:
FIFA 20 Ultimate Team will have over 500 CONMEBOL players, with special items for select players taking part in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana. Custom live content and campaigns will also give you the ultimate connection to the CONMEBOL Libertadores.
