Area park projects receive grants
WASHINGTON – Mountrail County, Turtle Lake and Mercer projects are among those receiving grants from the National Park Service, according to U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-ND.
The Mountrail County Park Board will receive $137,500 for a new Van Hook Recreation Area West bathhouse.
Turtle Lake-Mercer Public School will receive $69,558 for playground improvements, and the City of Mercer will receive $42,845 for new playground equipment in Mercer Memorial Park.
In total, seven grants were awarded in North Dakota, with additional funds going to the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District, Grand Forks Park District and City of Gackle.
