Lamar Odom used fake penis to pass Olympic drug test

Former NBA star Lamar Odom admits in his forthcoming memoir that he wore a prosthetic penis to pass a drug test for the 2004 Olympics.

The former Los Angeles Lakers player, whose struggles with addiction have made headlines, said it was “one of the biggest honors in my career” to be named to the Olympic men’s basketball team.

But, he writes in Darkness to Light, that excitement turned to anxiety when he was told he would have to pass a drug test to play.

“There was absolutely no way I was going to pass. I’d been smoking weed every day that summer. Panic set in,” the book says, according to People magazine.

“We started googling ‘fake penises’ and studied different ways to beat a drug test,” he writes. “After an exhaustive search we ordered a giant, rubber, black c— to arrive the next day.”

Odom had his drug-free trainer urinate into the prosthetic penis, which he then strapped on for the drug test.

“I unzipped my pants and carefully slid the fake penis through the zipper hole. To get the pee to come out of the tip, I had to squeeze the shaft repeatedly,” Odom writes.

An NBA security official watched from two feet away.

“He stuck a thermometer in the cup to gauge the temperature … satisfied that the pee was mine, said ‘Welcome to Team USA,’” Odom writes.

Odom, 39, nearly died in 2015 from a drug overdose. He married Khloe Kardashian in 2009 after a monthlong whirlwind romance. The two finalized their divorce in 2016 after Kardashian discovered Odom had been unfaithful.
