Two of Germany’s most successful rappers go on tour together.

Two of Germany’s most successful rap artists, Marteria and Casper, just released their collabo-album 1982, which reached number one in the official German charts. Prior to playing a series of open-air concerts in Germany next summer, they’ll perform in select venues across Europe in November, called the “Europa Bambaataa Club Tour 2018”.
Both artists are likely to encounter German speaking fans in Amsterdam, Holland, where a lot of children still opt to learn the language of their geographical neighbors in school.  Marteria and Casper are scheduled to play the Dutch capital’s 650-capacity Melkweg OZ, Nov. 21.
German is also one of the official languages in Luxembourg, where the duo will take the stage at Luxembourg City’s 1,200-cap Den Atelier, Nov. 26.
Bern, where they’ll perform at the 800-capacity Bierhübeli Nov. 24, is the center of the German-speaking territories in Switzerland.
The rest of the cities aren’t known for being particularly big on speaking German, but they have strong German communities that have settled there through the years: London, England, for instance, where Marteria and Casper will take the stage at the 800-capacity O2 Islington Academy.
On Nov. 22, they’re playing the 1,000-cap Meet Factory in Prague, Czech Republic, and on Nov. 25, it’s the 700-capacity Le Trabendo in Paris, France. Ticket for the “Europa Bambaataa Club Tour 2018” go on sale today, Sept. 17.
Michael Sand, Marteria’s booking agent at Four Artists, told Pollstar that the tour’s stops were chosen according to their proximity to and accessibility from Germany, as well as the German speaking communities present. The team did not base their decisions on streaming data.
Marteria and Casper have also announced a series of open air summer concerts in Germany next year, for which tickets are already on sale. According to Four Artists, 60,000 ticket have already been sold. The list of shows includes Hannover’s Expo Plaza (May 31), Dresden’s movie and concert festival “Filmnächte am Elbufer” (July 20), Berlin’s Waldbühne (Aug. 3), Hamburg’s
Marteria and Casper are also headliners at next year’s Rock am Ring/Rock im Park twin-festvals.
Pollstar took a close look at the rise of Deutschrap earlier this year, speaking to Marteria and his booking agent at Four Artists, Michael Sand, among others.
