Earmarks details

How to read this table

The table lists all earmarks sponsored by this member alone or in concert with other members of Congress. The table also includes information about the specified recipients of the earmark and their contributions to this member. Some earmarks don't identify a recipient while others have multiple recipients. In the case of multiple recipients, the same earmark is listed for each recipient. As a result, you cannot count the items or add up all the figures in the table to obtain the total number of earmarks or total cost of the earmarks for the member. National earmarks sponsored by this member along with other members of Congress and/or the president are not included.

The "Indivs" column represents contributions to the lawmaker by employees of the earmark recipient and their families. "PACs" shows contributions from the recipient's political action committee. "Lobbying" represents total lobbying expenditures made by the earmark recipient during the year when budget bills were under consideration (during 2009 for the FY10 bills, for example).

Note: Earmarks were banned by Congress in February 2011. The ban has not been lifted.
