Michigan reported its highest daily case count Thursday since the end of May.

The 543 new coronavirus cases Thursday are the most the state has reported since May 29, bringing the state total to 64,675. An additional 15 deaths were reported, with 13 included that were identified from a review death certificates.

After a steady decrease in cases, Michigan numbers are creeping up again. The current seven-day average is 338 cases per day, after that number had decreased to 152 on June 15. That day also marked the lowest total cases since the start of the pandemic with 74 cases.

Between 40 and 50 additional coronavirus cases were included in the daily total that would have otherwise been counted in Friday's total because the information was pulled later in the day, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services spokeswoman Lynn Sutfin said.

MDHHS also reported 7,003 probable cases and 246 probable deaths Thursday.
