Here Are New Jersey’s 10 Most Expensive Zip Codes For 2020

NEW JERSEY — All of New Jersey’s 10 priciest ZIP codes have median home prices upwards of $1.1 million, a new analysis finds.

According to an analysis from the PropertyShark real estate blog, Bergen County's Alpine (07620) has the state's most expensive ZIP code. There, the median home price is $1,450,000 in 2020.

While a North Jersey community took the No. 1 spot, Cape May County’s Avalon and Stone Harbor were also listed among the Garden State’s most expensive, with median home prices listed as $1.44 million and $1.2 million respectively.

Monmouth County is home to the highest number of zip codes on the list, touting four of the most expensive localities: Deal, Avon By The Sea, Sea Girt and Rumson.

To determine the most expensive ZIP codes, the analysis assessed real estate transactions that closed between Jan. 1, 2020, and Oct. 15, 2020.

Alpine also ranked at No. 100 on PropertyShark's list of the top 100 priciest ZIP codes in the United States. According to the analysis, Atherton, California is the country's most expensive ZIP code for the fourth consecutive year.

Here are New Jersey’s 10 most expensive ZIP codes and their median home price, according to PropertyShark:

  1. Alpine (07620), $1,450,000
  2. Avalon (08202), $1,444,000
  3. Short Hills (07078), $1,428,000
  4. Deal (07723), $1,313,000
  5. Avon By The Sea (07717), $1,250,000
  6. Stone Harbor (08247), $1,200,000
  7. New Vernon (07976), $1,150,000
  8. Mantoloking (08738), $1,138,000
  9. Sea Girt (08750), $1,127,000
  10. Rumson (07760), $1,100,000
