Father killed, 2 injured in N.J. house fire, cops say

A man was killed and his daughter and another person hurt during an overnight house fire in Florence.

Firefighters and police saw flames coming from windows and the front door when they arrived at the home on Amboy Avenue shortly after 2 a.m., Florence police said.

A resident was found dead when firefighters entered to knock down the fire, officials said. Two others escaped with minor injuries.

While authorities didn’t identify the victims, WPVI-6 said a father died and his adult daughter was among the injured.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by local and county officials.
