Back HELP Course on International Cooperation in Criminal Matters is Available in Ukrainian

The Council of Europe has translated into Ukrainian and made publicly available a free online course on International Cooperation in Criminal Matters. This course was developed by the European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) of the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC).

The course investigates fundamental principles of international judicial cooperation and a range of legal frameworks and legal instruments for such cooperation - applied under a general consideration for human rights issues.

The course covers legal framework for the international cooperation on criminal matters as well as specific topics relating to extradition, mutual legal assistance, transfer of sentenced persons, supervision of offenders, international validity of criminal judgements and transfer of proceedings, and seizure and confiscation of proceeds of crime. The course explores these topics in a practical way, by using presentations.

The course was translated under the project “Human rights compliant criminal justice system in Ukraine”, which is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2021.
